pen kalamkari

The saree is a beautiful v soft pen kalamakari done in natural dyes , it’s completely hand drawn and hand painted , the base fabric is vidharba tussar . Pen kalamakari usually undergoes a lot of preprocessing . The saree is processed in milk and nutmeg mixture and then washed and dried this prevents colour bleeding from the saree . Then outline is done using black pen and then again washed and each colours are painted separately and washed each time.

The saree base is red colour with dancing peacocks in border and Paisley border and floral pattern in body and blouse
